At A Distance of 114 km

What’s the most time you’ve ever spent apart from your favorite person? Tell us about it.

via Daily Prompt: My Favorite.

We met in high school my boyfriend and I; Grade 10 in fact. He was the bright student all the teachers and staff spoke so highly of; I was the socially awkward girl who loved to draw. After months of stalking one another and eventually talking, I ended up giving him a letter on Valentine’s Day (seriously?) and that is where our story began. Valentine’s Day became our anniversary and I no longer have any valid reason to ignore February 14th. =___=

Flash forward to the present, both of us are still together despite going to different universities. Frankly, I’m amazed we’ve lasted this long. Much to the approval of our families, as students, we decided that education comes first before our relationship and as a result, we don’t spend much time with each other. The most time I’ve spent apart from my boyfriend first started out as 2 months, which quickly turned to half a year, and eventually eight months.

Thankfully, I was able to see him and his family over the Christmas break. For those five days that I stayed over at his house, I’ve spent more time with him than I ever did over the past 2 years. In my eyes, it was worth the long wait.

Winter break soon came to an end (unfortunately), and with the new school term about to start in a few days, I’m not sure when the next time we’ll be seeing each other is. Maybe we’ll break our record this time. :)

    • Probably not for Spring Break, but I’m hoping I’ll get to see him sometime in the summer. Balancing education and relationship is still a work-in-progress for the both of us, even though we’ve been together for a while now. I’m hoping it doesn’t progress to balancing work and relationship in the future… .___.”

And yes, thank goodness for Christmas break! <3
